VISIT TO AUSTRIA

I visited Austria in 1992.  As per the itinerary of Cosmos tour of Western Europe I along with my wife and the group reached Austria whose language is German. The entire country was picturesque with snow laden hills and mountains.

I visited Innsbruck famous for Maria Theresien Strasse, Hapsburg castle and Triumphal Arch located near it. Among the royal palaces and buildings the Golden Roof (GoldenesDachi) was distinctly unique as it was covered with fire-gilded copper tiles.

I stayed at Innsbruck, the capital of Tyrol where Winter Olympic was held in 1976. I also saw some electoral posters there. It was a beautiful township not much polluted with modernization. I met few Indian students studying there. Some of them have married local girls or kept them as girlfriends.
